RFI FIRE TEAM

Joe Brugnoli (Owner of RFI) is an active law enforcement officer in the state of Michigan and current member of the Southeast Oakland SRT Team. In addition to being a LEO, Joe is a firearms trainer within his department and SWAT team, and a High Risk Traffic Stop instructor at Oakland University’s Police Academy. Additionally, Joe is a certified NRA Rifle, Pistol, and Personal Protection in Home Instructor, Range Safety Officer, and certified AR15 Armorer. Between 1996 and 1999, Joe served as a U.S. Army Ranger in the 75th Ranger Regiment and graduated from the elite U.S. Army Ranger School 2nd in his class. From 1999 to 2006, Joe served as a Team Leader with a Long Range Surveillance company and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom I & II. Since 1996, Joe has operated around the world and trained with SOF, CAG, British SAS, and numerous other elite special operations units, including local and federal law enforcement agencies. Joe is a graduate of Michigan State University, and is currently seeking his Juris Doctorate (JD). Joe brings tested and proven tactical training and experience to his company. As the owner RFI, Joe is dedicated to Leading The Way In Training Through Excellence, and providing the most realistic training environment for law enforcement and citizens.

Bob Corby began a life time commitment to the gun when he joined the service at 17 years old. After serving active duty time in the Infantry in 8th Infantry Division and 1st Armored Division, he completed SFAS (selected for 18B) and served in 12th Special Forces Group until they cased their colors in the mid-90’s. Bob then transferred to F Co 425th Infantry (Airborne)(Long Range Surveillance) where he excelled in the craft of small unit tactics as Senior RTO, Senior Scout, Assistant Team Leader, and eventually Team Leader (with MOS and skill identifier 11B3V6B, non-tab’er). He has graduated from numerous military schools, including Combatives Instructor Level I and the renowned 4th Ranger Training Battalion Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course. Most recently, Bob transferred to 125th INF in the Scout/Sniper section. He has deployed twice to OIF (2004 and 2009) as well as participated in numerous training events with foreign countries. His civilian education includes an undergraduate degree from University Detroit Mercy and graduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Bob is NRA certified as an instructor for Rifle, Pistol, and Personal Protection in the Home as well as Range Safety Officer. He is a recent graduate of Sniper/Counter Sniper and Advanced Sniper as well as a POST certified Sniper instructor. Bob continues to improve himself and seek knowledge by attending numerous shooting schools and classes each year. 2011highlights included training at Sig Sauer Academy in NH and 2012 plans include training at the Sure Fire Institute in CA as well as numerous local training venues. Through formal training and experience Bob brings forth years of experience in the context of civilian defensive firearms use and truly enjoys working with customers to enhance their knowledge and improve their individual performance.
Eric Baroky began his public safety career in 1993 when he started the Oakland Fire academy. After graduating from the academy, Eric earned his EMT license and State of Michigan Fire Service Instructor certificate. In 2000, Eric decided to pursue a career in law enforcement when he was hired by the City of Detroit and graduated from their police academy. Eric currently works in the patrol division of his current department, where he serves as an certified instructor in defensive tactics, ground fighting, pressure points and control tactics (PPCT), pepper spray, Taser, and is a Glock armorer for the department. In additional to his patrol duties, Eric serves as an operator on the Southeast Oakland S.W.A.T team. Eric offers years of tactical training and personal protection experience to RFI students. Eric is a valuable asset who, from the beginning, helped design a realistic and professional training environment.
