Course Description: This is a 1 – day course designed to give the student a thorough understanding of rifle marksmanship, and the tactical use of a carbine weapon system along with their personal concealed carry handgun. Students will gain a thorough understanding of rifle marksmanship by building a strong foundation based on proven training techniques. By the end of the course, students will have the confidence and skill level to safely operate a rifle on the range or defensively at home.
This is an 8 hour – outdoor range day consisting of 2 hours of classroom and 6 hours of range instruction. This is a physically demanding course requiring students to assume several shooting positions and traverse the range during several courses of fire and implement the learned shooting principles. The course will NOT be cancelled due to weather – prepare for rain.
This course is open to all shoulder fired semi-automatic weapon systems that are LEGAL in the State of Michigan. If you have questions please call.
Course Requirements: 500 rounds of ammunition (400 rifle / 100 handgun), personal firearm (rifle/carbine), concealed carry firearm (handgun), concealed carry holster, and eye and ear protection. A $30 deposit to reserve your seat.
Course Prerequisites: None
Students Will Learn: Use of sights, zeroing considerations and techniques, external ballistics, equipment placement, fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, reloading & malfunctions drills, shooting positions, multiple target engagements, target identification, training mindset and methodology.
